American Crafts City Park

The American Crafts City Park range is just what you'd expect from this company - bright and vibrant, with clean lines and modern designs. The papers were perfect for this page I made about our nieces and nephew, because they were all wearing such wildly clashing colours. The colourful stripe and dot papers managed to pick out most of the shades from their outfits, giving the page some unity. I used a range of embellishments including stickers, chipboard stars and gems to give the page dimension.

I decided to incorporate some hidden journalling into this page, using the scallop circle motif which I repeated on the top and bottom of the layout. The scallop circle, punched from book paper, on the bottom is mounted on some cardstock and then adhered using a brad. This allows the circle to be swung around and the journalling revealed...

Hidden journalling is great if your design doesn't really leave space for the words, or for those occasions when you don't want your thoughts on display for everybody to read.
